Open E-Consultation

Stakeholder participation

We held a held a World Cafe face-to-face consultation from 9-10 August 2010 in Accra, Ghana.  A synthesis can be downloaded here. This was followed by an open e-consultation. The e-consultation has been completed on 26 August 2010 and digests can be downloaded now. It consisted of two discrete parts:

  1. Part one challenged assumptions and could be completed without reading the proposal. Click here to download a digest of the results.
  2. Part two dealt with specific sections of the proposal where we solicited participants insights based on a number of open-ended questions. Click here to download the digest of the proposal review.
  • The version of the proposal that benefitted from the review and that was submitted on 21 May 2011 following revision based on comments on previous proposal submitted 10 September 2010 to the CGIAR Consortium can be downloaded here.

We would like to sincerely thank all who participated in the e-consultation for Their precious time and valuable insights to improve the Humidtropics proposal and its ultimate implementation to better the lives of the poor and vulnerable in the humid tropics.

Background

The CGIAR is undergoing a major change process, which in the near future will see its Center operations implemented through a number of CGIAR Research Programs (CRPs). These are aimed to better coordinate Research for Development (R4D) efforts, enhance efficiencies, and encourage cooperation and collaboration with a focus on effective partnerships to achieve more development impacts. The Humidtropics  proposal fosters integrated agricultural production systems in the humid tropics.

We would like to invite you to contribute to the development of this proposal. We would welcome your input to test the assumption for the proposal, to review the draft proposal, and to comment on some of the key sections. We also welcome any general comments or suggestion on the draft proposal.

Sincerely

Dr Paula Bramel
